One of my tenants in my triplex is trying to setup a Lifeline alert system but that requires a working phone jack. Unfortunately the only phone jack in the unit is not working. I had another electrician come look at it and when a phone is hooked up, he said it sounds like there's a modem on the line. He said the other phone jacks work so it must be a bad line. I wasn't available that day so I couldn't approve the repairs needed. Sounds like a need some rewiring done from the phone terminal downstairs to the phone jack upstairs?
