I built a log home 15 yrs ago and have been using it as a summer vacation home. We have now moved here permanently. We realized right away that the house could not maintain a 70-72 degree temperature when outside was below 30 degrees and wind was blowing. We have made several adjustments but the problem is not solved. The house is drafty, the Windows we installed were in expensive Lowes Windows, caulking is poor, and I am unsure of insulation between Windows and logs.
