New unit..the unit on the inside is running. The temp was set on 65degrees but inside would show 88degree. I noticed the unit on outside not running..I didnt hear any type of sound coming from unit nor was the fan turning..

I built a log home 15 yrs ago and have been using it as a summer vacation home. We have now moved here permanently. We realized right away that the house could not maintain a 70-72 degree temperature when outside was below 30 degrees and wind was blowing. We have made several adjustments but the problem is not solved. The house is drafty, the Windows we installed were in expensive Lowes Windows, caulking is poor, and I am unsure of insulation between Windows and logs. We did redo the mechanical system a few years ago which helped. We are in need of a professional to help us prepare this house for the winter with reasonable heating bills.
