Jewelry organizing sometimes is very tricky, because it is so easy to tangle the necklaces together and lose one of the earrings. We try making it easy by keeping them all together on jewelry boxes or drawers, but that just makes us forget about them(out of sight, out of mind!) and makes us lose valuable time trying to find that exact piece we want.
So, as a solution for those recurring disappearing earrings and to save you some time, here are some very interesting and effective DIY ideas that you can try today.
Make an Earring Rack out of Plywood
In this interesting DIY you can learn how to make this amazing stud earrings rack from plywood. Choose the size depending on how many pairs you have and make it fit your current decor: you can just brush on a coat of wood sealer, or make it more colorful by painting it with a fun color or wrapping it with a fabric or paper with a cool design. Hang the piece on the wall using a chain or just leave it leaning against it on top of a dressing table. No more trouble looking for a complete pair of earrings!
Make a Ring Box
This beautiful and effective idea will organize your rings all in one place, have them displayed so you don’t forget of any of them and so that you always know exactly where to look for your favorite ones. This also makes for an interesting gift idea for your friend that you know is having trouble organizing her things too. Check this DIY here.
Make a Jewelry Display out of Antlers
This idea is just as awesome as it is different; it’s not only a jewelry holder, but also an art piece. You just need a pair of antlers (you can easily get from eBay), acrylic paint, glue, and glitter. Paint all the antlers tips with your chosen color, and once it’s dry apply glue to the very ends and dust glitter over them. The result is breathtaking!
Use a Flatware Tray as a Display
This is a cool, alternative way to organize your jewelry. Choose a nice flatware tray, use a self-adhesive foil or velvet fabric to bind to it and voilá: you have a simple and yet beautiful jewelry organizer. You can place it on top of a dressing table or inside a drawer. And to give it a little kick you can spray paint the tray with a fabulous color like turquoise or orange, before adding the fabric.
This fantastic DIY by Emily Henderson is so dazzling that we had to share. So elegant and minimal! It’s very different and easy to make, making it a fun project to try out.
Branch Necklace Display
To stop that nightmare of tangled necklaces, you can make this unique hanging branch to display them without chaos. Check the DIY here. The result is magnificent and totally worth the effort.
Use an Egg Tray
Ok, this may not be a DIY per se, but it’s such a nice idea I had to include here. You can use a different egg tray to easily organize your smaller jewelry pieces like rings, stud earrings, extra backs, pins, etc. This same idea can be used with muffin trays, ice cube trays and chocolate boxes.
Cheese Grater Earrings Display
This very different and creative idea is also a fun way to display your earrings. Choose a cheap and all metal cheese grater: you can use a flat one and hang on the wall or use a box grater to place on top of the nightstand. Just spray paint it with a fun bright color, maybe add a ribbon on the handle and it is ready to hold your earrings.
Frames are not just for pictures, they are very versatile and can be used in many different ways: one of them is for jewelry displaying. You can use chicken wire or lace fabric on the frame so you can put your earrings or even screw hooks directly on the top part of a wood frame to hang your necklaces. Another extraordinary way to hang your pieces is to use a decorative radiator grate on a frame like Jen at I Heart Organizing did. Such a different and creative idea!
Frames + Wine Corks = Corkboard
Another fantastic idea to use frames as jewelry organizers is using wine corks as background to pin over or use cork board wrapped with a beautiful fabric or wrapping paper. Just use pins to fix your necklaces or bracelets and hang it on a wall. You’ll never lose any more time looking for your favorite pieces.
Screw Hooks on a Clothes Hanger
If you have a small place but still want to be able to display and organize your jewelry, you can screw hooks on a wooden clothes hanger to hang your necklaces and bracelets and just leave it on the closet to save space. Simple and practical!
Brass Earring Pyramid
This amazing DIY is so unique and remarkable that it stunned us. It fits basically any decor style and it’s a fun project to try when you have a little free time. Totally worth the effort!
Vintage Wall Hanger
This DIY is so fun and easy! You just gather some different and fun knobs, hooks or drawer handles from a hardware store and attach them on a piece of wood. Hang the piece on the dressing room/bedroom or even near the door so you don’t forget to get one when you’re leaving. The result is very unique and fascinating!
A Handy Ring Organizer
This one is very different from the others. It is unforgettably kickass! It takes a little bit more of effort and patience to make, but the result is very interesting. Check out the DIY here.
