It is not advisable. The plaster inside the pool will lose strength if not maintained within chemically stable conditions. Climatic conditions can also contribute to the damage. An empty pool abandoned for a lengthy period will, in most cases, trigger problems on the plaster. Always maintain your pool loaded to the adequate level to prevent serious damage.

Certainly no. This should be done only when a general cleaning is necessary. The swimming pool's plaster floor will diminish in the sun with no balanced water to safeguard it. Even so, the most significant concern which might develop from a clear pool is that the water table underneath the pool may actually elevate the pool or pop the pool area which may cause expensive damages.

Provided there is water inside your pool, you have to run your system every single day so that it can efficiently circulate and clean all the water. Your pool water will need to turn over approximately twice every day in the hottest months.

In Ground Swimming Pool

Vicky G. Hartford, CT

We have a lagoon style in-ground pool that has leaked every summer. We had a new liner installed last summer. We still are having issues with the liner ripping at the steps. Apparently, we have a high water table and we keep getting water under the liner which stresses it at the steps. The liner has floated a couple of times. We are running a hose behind the liner to pump the water out from underneath the liner but the water is clear and the water level of the pool is still going down. We have had a diver come out twice in the last week to patch the liner; the last time being last night and this morning the level of the pool was down almost 2 inches. This has been a very frustrating problem. It has been recommended that maybe we need to install some sort of drainage system with a pump. We would love to have this problem resolved. Is this something you can help with?
