So these are the ingredients you are going to need:
- 1 inch piece of unpeeled and thinly sliced turmeric (or ½ teaspoon dried turmeric)
- ½ inch piece of unpeeled and thinly sliced ginger (or ¼ teaspoon dried powdered ginger)
- 1 cup unsweetened non-dairy milk (using homemade milk is a good choice)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tablespoon honey (or more to taste)
- 1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil
- ¼ teaspoon whole black peppercorns
- Ground cinnamon (for serving)
And how to put it all together:
- Pour the milk into a sauce pan.
- Add the cinnamon stick, turmeric, ginger, coconut oil, peppercorns, and 1 cup water, bringing to a low boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, until the flavors become well combined.
- Filter through a fine-mesh sieve, removing the cinnamon stick, turmeric, ginger, and peppercorns.
- Transfer into a Vitamix and blend on high speed.
- Pour into mugs and top with a dash of ground cinnamon.
