ETS Restorations has built the greatest natural-looking water feature in my backyard. They used the top of the line materials: best multi-speed pump, liners, natural rocks of several types, lights and worked on the smallest details, adjusting every stone and light to the best view. The water feature has a pond where a natural ecosystem is developing for us to be able to have fish and turtles living there. This water feature is truly a piece of art! It can be shown anytime if interested.
They came out to fix a tree that other contractor screwed up and to trim the second tree in the backyard. They came with a three-man team and finished in about 5-6 hours. They did a GREAT job! Even the other neighbors are commenting on how good the trees look. I didn't have to micromanage and simply gave them loose instructions on what I was looking for. They were able to figure out what I wanted and delivered perfectly. They left the property clean and the trees pristine. Highly, highly recommend.
I would highly recommend them and also plan to use them myself in the future...other neighbors near by have also used them since our recent project in late July.
Very impressed with Charles and his entire crew. Very responsive, professional and fair pricing. We had a full oak tree fall over in the middle of the night. I called ETS Restorations at 10am, Charles was at my house by 11am and the tree was gone by 3pm. Can't get better service than that!!
We consulted with Charles on our landscape project where he came over in person multiple times and helped give us ideas on our project. He was thorough in his vision and although we ultimately went in another direction, his professionalism and attention to detail was reflected in his bid and advice that he provided. We would continue to shortlist and consider him in future projects.
I had a mulberry tree that was overhanging the roof and chimney. ETS Restorations was quick in coming out to assess and provide a quote. They also accommodated my numerous scheduling changes over the next several weeks. I finally got the mulberry prunes today. They were prompt and professional. They use very loud equipment which was turned off whenever I was outside to look at the work. Excellent job with the pruning and cleanup as well. I will use them again should I need any more tree care.
I would give them 6 stars if I could. From start to finish this team was amazing. From the thoughtful design process to the execution, and constant communication along the way, Liaison were true professionals and a pleasure to work with. Chris and the folks at ETS are friendly, efficient and on time with work. I saw their work on our neighbor's yard, and they recommended ETS very highly. I was looking for mulch from tree trimming and removal and they gave me multiple availabilities for dropping off a load right away after I called them. They told me exactly what and how much to expect, fixed time for delivery, and dropped off some fine cedar wood chips for free. Excited to use local, organic mulch and not send it to a landfill. Strongly recommend them!
Charles and his team did a great job with the completed product. We wanted to clean-up our backyard and redo it with artificial grass. He came out to scope it out and gave us the best estimate out of the others that we checked out. In addition, I really liked that Charles' team also did other landscape construction as well and had that versatility. Most companies tend to only do one thing and I didn't want to have to piecemeal my yard remodel. They ended up adding a gravel pad for a shed and cleaning up the front yard with new decorative rocks as well. I highly recommend Charles' team for their efficiency and quality.
Charles and his crew just removed two huge Monterey Pine trees from a large hill behind our house. They did a phenomenal job, completing the whole job in one day. Watching them do their work was really impressive- they have a huge crane, a drone operator who streams video of what's happening for the crane operator to see, and wireless headsets for them all to communicate. I recommend them 100% and will use them again for any other tree projects.
This is important mostly for larger jobs. Clearly a two man operation is going to build a home much slower than a 15 man crew. This is also a good indication of the overall size of the Basement Waterproofing company, if that's an area of concern for you. The reason you may want to ask about the fleet is that fleet size is a good indicator of the mobility of the company. Mobility may not sound important, but it's hard for the Birmingham contractors to get to job sites if they lack appropriate vehicles.
This is very important, since an estimate is just that. Many contractors will submit a "paper estimate", meaning they've written the estimate down on paper. The bill is the true amount owed and will almost always say "Invoice" or "Bill" at the top of the page. The bill should also list the date it was issued, the due date of payment, and a list of services rendered.
These first two questions should only relate to services or good purchased directly from the service provider. Many products carry their own warranties, like roofing shingles or siding. It's useful to know what these warranties cover as well as how long they last. The "warranty agent" question is important, because often warranty agents work with the manufacturer to get you repairs under warranty at a much lower price.
You'll always want to ask how long the company has been in business in Birmingham. While this isn't a guarantee that the company will do good work, companies with longevity on their side must be doing something right. That being said, there are newer companies that do great work. If the company is under three years old, ask where the owner was employed before and for how long. If he/she has a long history of employment, it's reasonable to infer that he or she decided to go into business for themselves after so many years of experience.
Though a standard question, it's important to ask. Most contractors will tell you how long they expect the job to take without you asking. If they don't volunteer that information, be sure to ask. It's also helpful to ask if that's a hard finish date, meaning that it's the definite finish date. If it's a soft finish date, it may be extended for any number of reasons.
