About this pro

Patriot Tree Company is a fully licensed and insured tree service company that has been providing high quality tree services to the north Denver metro and Boulder area communities since 2010. Founded by retired Army Special Forces Green Beret Keith Boarman, the companys focus was to provide a high level of service at an affordable and fair price to the community. Since then, Keith has passed the torch and put the company in the hands of Erik Gustafson, Richard Koss, Dan Stone, and Michael Smith, who now own and operate the company.

We are based here in lovely Louisville Colorado, at Patriot Tree Company headquarters (aka The Wood Lot) in the Colorado Technology Center. We have a large 2 acre property that houses all of our trucks, chippers, and gear; as well as serving as a base of operations for firewood processing and sales. Our offices are located on the property as well, enabling good communication between the office and the crews in the mornings prior to crew departures. Owning this property with many mature trees allows us to have in house training for crews on proper work techniques as well as being able to practice the latest safety procedures. The Wood Lot is not open to the public, but we can take visitors by appointment, please call the office if you would like to stop by. We prefer to keep firewood sales by delivery only.

Our current mission is to provide the highest professional level, scientifically based, and environmentally minded tree care as possible to our awesome clients. We make every effort to preserve large, old, and/or unique trees, and have the knowledgeable and experienced staff to help you keep these trees safe and healthy in your landscape. When trees present significant hazards that cannot be mitigated, we have the right tools to remove these trees safely and efficiently. We also offer help with tree selection and planting, so that old dangerous tree can be replaced with one that is more appropriate for your property. So give us a call and schedule a time to meet with one of our ISA Certified Arborists, we would love to help you develop a plan to get the trees on your property working for you. We appreciate your interest in our company, Ill see you from the canopy!

Best Questions to Ask a Landscaping Contractors Contractor

How many contractors do you have working for you? How many vehicles are in your fleet?

This is important mostly for larger jobs. Clearly a two man operation is going to build a home much slower than a 15 man crew. This is also a good indication of the overall size of the Landscaping company, if that's an area of concern for you. The reason you may want to ask about the fleet is that fleet size is a good indicator of the mobility of the company. Mobility may not sound important, but it's hard for the Louisville contractors to get to job sites if they lack appropriate vehicles.

Is your bill for Landscaping in Louisville an estimate or a final price?

This is very important, since an estimate is just that. Many contractors will submit a "paper estimate", meaning they've written the estimate down on paper. The bill is the true amount owed and will almost always say "Invoice" or "Bill" at the top of the page. The bill should also list the date it was issued, the due date of payment, and a list of services rendered.

What guarantees and/or warranties can you give me? Are you a warranty agent for any brands?

These first two questions should only relate to services or good purchased directly from the service provider. Many products carry their own warranties, like roofing shingles or siding. It's useful to know what these warranties cover as well as how long they last. The "warranty agent" question is important, because often warranty agents work with the manufacturer to get you repairs under warranty at a much lower price.

Do you have any references that I can contact?

Always ask for references, and always check them. Keep in mind though that the only references you'll get are people who the contractor is certain will give him a good review. You'd also be well advised to check online review sources in Louisville as well, which will give you a broader view of customer satisfaction for a given company.
