The quality of all of the work is sub-standard. Tuggle violated International Residential Building Codes. There are also 20 Electrical Safety Code Violations. There are over 20 cracks in the block around the perimeter of the structure which indicate severe Structural and Foundation damage. There are multiple hairline cracks in the mortar. There is also inconsistencies in the color and texture of the mortar . The cement floor is poorly finished where it comes out the door entrances and there are cracks in the cement.

One wall is of 2 inches. other walls are not square. The doors are warped the door jam stops are crooked. There is a 90 degree angle where two kitchen cabinets meet you can insert your hand in the gap and touch the inside of one of the cabinets. The shower tile is broken and crooked. There is a difference of 1" from the top to the bottom of the glass wall in the shower Paint is splattered all over . The Bamboo floor has bulges in it and is not square. The tonnage of the Air Conditioner was dropped from 5 tons to 4 tons without any testing done. 1/2 " copper pipe was used instead of the 3/4" pipe called for on the plans. There is an ROC complaint with 475 items on going to the board for a hearing against Tuggle's license in the very near future. In 1994 at the age of 48 Gerald Lee Tuggle the owner of Tuggle Construction / Heartland Construction (Destruction) was arrested by the Arizona Department Of Public Safety on a 2nd Degree Felony Charge for transportation for sale of over 8 Lbs of Marijuana. The Arrest Number is 940201107. In 1996 Two Years Later at the age of 50, Tuggle was caught COntracting without a ROC License On the 29th of October 2010, A lawsuit No. C20108580 was filed by Gustavo and Diany Gonzalez, with the Superior Court of Arizona against Tuggle for Fraud, Consumer Fraud, Conversion and Breach of Contract. Both of these cases can only be viewed in detail at the Superior Court of Arizona Records Room. The arrest record and more detailed information on the lawsuit does not show up on any other computer. In June of 2012, as I was told, against the advice of his attorney filed a false threat complaint with the Pima County Sheriffs Department after he received a letter from the ROC that a complaint was filed against him for his sub-standard quality work. On March 22, 2013 Tuggle's membership with the BBB was REVOKED.
Always ask for references, and always check them. Keep in mind though that the only references you'll get are people who the contractor is certain will give him a good review. You'd also be well advised to check online review sources in Tucson as well, which will give you a broader view of customer satisfaction for a given company.
This is important mostly for larger jobs. Clearly a two man operation is going to build a home much slower than a 15 man crew. This is also a good indication of the overall size of the Additions and Remodels company, if that's an area of concern for you. The reason you may want to ask about the fleet is that fleet size is a good indicator of the mobility of the company. Mobility may not sound important, but it's hard for the Tucson contractors to get to job sites if they lack appropriate vehicles.
The question is great for some industries and non-applicable for others. A general contractor, for example, will by definition employ subcontractors. If they do use subcontractors, ask if they're all licensed and insured independently.

The bill is the true amount owed and will almost always say "Invoice" or "Bill" at the top of the page. The bill should also list the date it was issued, the due date of payment, and a list of services rendered.
