Doing pranks on April Fools’ Day is very fun when we’re young, but once we start getting older, we also get a bit tired of these pranks. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the day by making the most out of some innocent pranks, such as these amazing recipes we’ve selected for you.

Grilled Cheese Pound Cake

This one is very easy to make. You’ll simple take your favorite pound cake recipe - if you don’t have one, have a look at this Pound Cake Recipe. Or you can buy the frozen kind too. Once you have the cake ready:

  • Cut it like sandwich bread slices
  • Use orange food coloring in white frosting
  • Frost two slices together

Meatloaf Donuts

Speaking of donuts, one easy prank you can do is get normal un-filled donuts and put mayonnaise in a ziplock bag to stuff them making it look like vanilla filling.

Cupcakes are definitely the favorite dessert of most people, no doubt they’re tasty treats. There are actually many types of cupcake recipes, so you can choose your favorite and just follow the decoration steps. This Nerdy Nummies video is a great instructions video to help you out.

The general idea is that you bake a vanilla cake to make it look like the bread, and a chocolate cake to to make the meat. Then use frosting mixed with yellow food coloring for the cheese and red food coloring for the tomatoes. As for the lettuce, a good option is using shredded coconut and green food coloring.

A simple jello recipe put in a glass with a straw, the first sip will give in some good laughs!

Another cause for a good laugh is the toothpaste filled oreo:

  • Twist the oreo open
  • Scrape off the filling with a knife
  • Add a glob of toothpaste on the cookie
  • Put the two pieces back together

There’s no reason to be disappointed with this not being a real pizza, because you’ll be enjoying it either way. To make a pizza cake, you’ll only need to be creative with the toppings since the cake is a simple cake batter recipe. Here are a few alternatives for you:

  • Mix red food coloring in white frosting to make the “tomato sauce”
  • Grate white chocolate to make it look like cheese
  • Use a circle cookie cutter to make strawberry fruit strips that look like pepperoni

Apple Fries

To make these fries, you are going to need:

  • 4 Granny smith apples
  • Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ⅛ cup cinnamon

And to put it all together:

  • Heat the oil over medium high heat.
  • Core, peel and slice the apples into French fries shape.
  • Put the apple slices in the cornstarch until they’re well coated.
  • Fry the apples for 2 or 3 minutes (until they’re lightly golden) and let them dry on a paper towel
  • Lastly, make a mix of sugar and cinnamon in a different pot and sprinkle over the already dried fries.

Broccoli Lollipops

The simplest of all pranks you could pull! Using a lollipop stick - which you can find at any craft store - place the head of a broccoli on the top of it. Then use a piece of wax paper over tissue paper and twist the papers around the stick at the bottom. Use a piece of tape to secure it, if necessary.

Rice Krispie Treats

Rice Krispie treats are a great combination with whatever you have in mind. Since they aren’t really sweet or salty, they’re just perfect for different treats! This particular sushi one is a recipe created by Kellogg’s Rice Krispies.

Bonus prank! Mix M&M’s, Skittles, and Reese’s pieces together in a bowl and see if anyone notices the difference.

Mashed Potatoes Cones

You can use whatever recipe of mashed potatoes you’d usually cook, in case you don’t have one, we recommend you this one from Simply Recipes or from My Recipes. The ice cream cone you can buy at most grocery stores, so you just need to scoop the mashed potatoes there and you’re all set!
