Laminate Flooring

Mark M. Scott, LA

I am remodeling my walk out basement to be a mother in law quarters. I have already taken out the carpet and would like to put laminate hardwood down but am not sure if the cement floor is level enough. I think there are some spots that I should use self leveling concrete to smooth out before laminate goes over the top of that. I had a flooring contractor come out from lumber liquidators but he seemed to have no experience with this. I am also wanting to put laminate through out the upstairs but my first priority is finishing the basement. Right now I am painting the whole basement, and took down a wall to combine two bedrooms. A sheet rocker and electrician are coming out to do some work on this remodel project and soon I will need to make some decisions on flooring---laminate or carpet?
