Of course, when talking about spring we need to have something related to flowers! This project is really fun to make once you get the hang of cutting pine cones in half. First of all, you take and cut as many as you’d like for the size of your frame. After that, it gets really easy: paint and glue them to the frame!

Pastel Hues

These pastel hues add class and subtle spring color to your whole spring decor. They’re gorgeous and delicate at the same time, which just makes the whole room feel calm and relaxing so you can enjoy your time at home after work!

Want to know how to paint pine cones? It’s really easy! You need:

  • To mix 2 parts paint and 2 parts water
  • Stick a chopstick (or something similar that will do the trick) through the base of the pine cone
  • Dip the pine cone into the cup (or bowl) with the paint mix
  • Set it to dry onto a sheet of wax paper (leave it overnight)

Tip: You could also use spray paint, but that might become a bit messier - and if you do use the spray paint, you should probably do it outside so you’re in a well-ventilated area.

What about making something for your garden too? If you already learned how to make a bird bath, then a bird feeder is just one more awesome thing to complete your garden! When using a pine cone, simply spread peanut butter all around it, then roll it over a plate with nuts and seeds. Now it’s ready to be hung outdoors!

Remember: attach a piece of twine so you can easily hang it from a tree branch!

Now, I haven’t found any photos nor did I try this project myself (yet), but what I have in mind is:

  1. Making the bleached pinecones
  2. Putting them in a jar
  3. Adding a bouquet of flowers inside (like a yellow, red, and green combo)

In my mind that looks like a beautiful combination! I think that it’d be a striking entryway addition, if I do try it and it ends up as I’m picturing it, I’ll make sure to share it with you as well.
