Halloween is right here and all the preparations are ready: the decoration is up, the desserts and treats are planned, and our costumes are all picked out. But what about our furry companions? They deserve to enter the spirit too and have the coolest costume to rock the Halloween party. Here is a list of fun and adorable costumes to dress them up for the holiday!
Spider-Dog Costume

To try to make your dog more spooky than cute(which is a hard task!), you can try dressing it up as a spider. Perfect for the holiday and to spook up the guests! Martha Stewart teaches how to do a similar costume here.
Vampire Dog

Vampires never go out of style, and it would be an adorable costume for your dog. Arrange a nice black cape and some fake fangs to make your pet look spooky and adorable at the same time. He or she would, without a doubt, be the center of the party!
The Devil

One of the most common Halloween costumes is dressing up as the devil, so why not try it out on our furry friends? On a cat it would surely look amazingly cute and maybe even fit its devilish personality. It would on mine, at least. Other ideas for cat costumes:

Dog Tutu Costume

Ok, this is not really “Halloween-y”, but for those who don’t have much time to spend on the costume, this is perfect. It is undeniably funny, especially if your dog is one of those big ones. The tutu skirt is so easy to make that you just don’t have an excuse not to dress him/her up for the holiday.
Prisoner Guinea Pig

Don’t leave your guinea pig out of the fun: it would look super cute dressed up as an old time prisoner. Find an old shirt that has some black and white stripes (or design the stripes on a sewing machine), and make this cute costume yourself (since it’s impossible to find and buy costumes for guinea pigs).
Guinea Pig Baked Potato

Another interesting and very funny costume to dress up your guinea pig in is as a baked potato. The little fella wouldn’t like it though, it would have to stand really still for it to work, but it should do fine for a couple seconds. You only need some tin foil and a fake pat of butter!
Dinosaur Costume For Dogs

Just because it’s Halloween doesn't mean you need to dress your dog in such a spooky outfit, like the spider and the vampire ones. You could dress it as an adorable Stegosaurus and it would be the center of attention! Check out the tutorial at The Next Bird for the details.
DIY Bloody Bandana

If you’re looking for a simpler yet still fun costume, you could try this bloody bandana that Sew Doggy Style presents in this easy tutorial. It looks scarily cool, making your friend look like it has been hit with a knife, perfect for Halloween! And the best part is: you can do it yourself and there’s no sewing needed!
Tiny Costumes for Birds

If you have the time (and the skill) to sew, you could make your birdy fellow join Halloween too by creating a small costume for it. Well, even with just the hat it already looks adorable!
Superman-Frog

Maybe not a popular choice for a pet, but for those who have a friendly frog at home, could try dressing it up in all sorts of safe costumes, just like superman from the photo. Doesn’t it look super cute?
Devilish Lizard

A lizard in a devil costume just looks plain awesome. It would certainly grab everybody’s attention and be the hottest costume this Halloween!
Killer Hedgehog

Hedgehogs already look super cute on their own, but how about this one dressed as Count Dracula? Spooky and adorable at the same time!
To have the greatest Halloween this year and to be able to include your pets, be sure to prioritize his/her comfort and safety before anything else, give your pet frequent costume breaks and extra treats so it can have just as much fun on Halloween as the kids do. Happy Halloween!
