So, the holiday season is here once again and it’s time to remember how to throw a successful dinner party! Each year is one that we want to improve, either personally, professionally, or just, you know, hostess-like. With that in mind, we’ve found some items you simply need to have if you’re playing hostess at some point!
“To be prepared is half the victory.” - Miguel de Cervantes
The casserole is a dish that’s (almost) always on the dinner menu, so it’s good to have at least one spare casserole dish at home. This three dish set is a good option if you still don’t have one of these, and a bonus is that you’ll have three different colors to match whatever table decor you’re going with!
Very important not only for the holidays, but for the everyday life, a cutting board is mostly useful for preparing the dinner itself. But in emergency cases, it can also be used as a cheeseboard for serving, or maybe a cold plate...you can get creative too!
The best thing about this dish is that it can go in the oven and from there straight to the table! There are only advantages to take into account here, right? Plus, since this option is a porcelain one, it’s usually simple to clean as well!
A tabletop may be a bit over the budget if you’re looking to save some money, but it’s totally worth it! It can be a really nice decor addition and another added bonus is the protection it provides for the table itself.
This one you very likely already have at home, but maybe consider a new set to use during the holidays! You can go for bright colors and patterns, or find something a bit more simple and neutral.
If you decide to go neutral on the dinner set, a nice way to take the decor style to the next level is by finding some cool napkins such as these! They’re fancy and useful, we could say it’s the perfect combo!
Set of Trays
One thing we can say for sure is that there’s no such thing as too many trays! They’re so useful and if you’re looking for something a bit fancier for your dinner parties, this is surely the option to go with!
We couldn’t leave out flatware on this essentials list, but of course you already knew about these being essentials! This is more so you have an option to find a matching set in case you’re missing any pieces in yours!
Coffee Cup Set
And for after dinner, making sure that dessert is accompanied by a nice cup of hot coffee is also essential! Maybe a cup of hot tea would be nice as well, that part is up to you.
Check out this set! It’s really lovely and practical, everyone can serve themselves and it’ll be awesome!
Talking about dessert, how about a nice cake on this cute cake plate? It’s so adorable and it’ll be sure to catch everyone’s attention when put on the table!
These serving bowls kind of speak for themselves - they’re that pretty!
In addition to that:
They’re great for the side dishes you’ll prepare and all the salad options too.
This cheeseboard is so fancy I can’t even! It has all the items necessary for cutting and serving cheese and even a board you can write down with chalk the types of cheese you have!
Coasters + Glasses
This one was a bit obvious as well, but we couldn’t skip it on this list! A matching set of glasses will give your dinner party a more classic look - or you can find some decorated glasses to give it a more unique style!
Though if you’re sticking to the simplest of glasses, invest in unique coasters! They’re that type of decor that doesn’t show in an obvious way, but they make a lovely difference in the overall look.
