Thanksgiving is the most special day to give thanks! That includes friends, family, and even people who are no longer in our lives, but helped us grow and be the best version of ourselves. We’ve put together here five ideas of how you can express your gratitude on Thanksgiving this year. Check them out!
“An attitude of gratitude brings great things.” - Yogi Bhajan
Gratitude Jar
This jar is really simple to make and everyone can join in the game! You can put it somewhere near the dinner table, with some paper and a pen and ask guests to write down what they’re thankful for. Then, after dinner, open the jar and read aloud the thanks and gratitude messages everyone wrote!
The Gratitude Game
This is a nice game for the whole family! It’s basically a color stick game, but instead of counting points, each stick represents something you should be thankful for (as the key indicates in the photo above). I’m sure it’ll be really fun for everyone at the dinner!
Thankful Tree
This tree is just so lovely! And all the ornaments are made with chalk, so you can reuse them later on for a different type of decor. The idea is that you write all the things you’re grateful for on each ornament.
Here’s an extra idea too:
Wait for your guests to arrive and allow each person to write an ornament! That way the thankful tree will be even more special!
Appreciation Notes
If someone couldn’t make it to your dinner, you should still send them a gratitude note for being such a special person in your life!
In addition to that:
These notes can also be used if you couldn’t make it to a friend’s invite too. You can thank them for being such unique characters in your life, and also thank them for the invite!
Random Acts of Kindness
Whether doing something big like volunteering or sponsoring a family in need, or simply by offering to wash the dishes after having dinner at a friend’s house, or even just giving someone a compliment or a hug. These are all acts of kindness the world needs!
