I have a 1980s metal carpeted staircase in one of my rental units. Its basically hooked on the the second floor and underneath the carpet you can feel the grooves around where it hooks in. This creates a potential slip hazard and is causing concern for my tenants. Are you familiar with this issue and/or do you think its something you can fix (install something to fill/within code)?
