When it comes to appetizers, you have a lot to choose from. Are you vegetarian? Or are you into seafood? Do you eat meat and only meat? There’s a party app for everyone. We tried to get an even blend of classy and easy between the different recipes. We scoured the internet for the top finger foods recipes out there. And here’s what we found.

Besides the benefits of being super customizable, the display is sometimes worth the prep time alone. People love seeing symmetry - especially if it’s edible! These work equally well on a baguette or similar roll. Sure you can go the old route of peanut butter and jelly or crackers and cheese, but why not craft a fine cuisine that would make a chef’s mouth water? Here are some fancy cold finger foods designed to be talked about long after the celebration.

Difficult to master, but always a significant addition to any house party, crab cakes are always the symbol of a “nice” buffet. They do sell pre-made, oven-ready packages, but we’re going all out for the top finger foods of the internet. So here’s a great recipe on a staple appetizer at any classy establishment.

  • 8 oz. crabmeat
  • ⅓ cup mayo
  • 3 whole grain bread slices
  • 3 green onions
  • 2 eggs, beaten (lightly)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  1. Pick and clean crab meat, then crumble (use blender if necessary)
  2. Mix the mayo, eggs, seasoning, and sauce in a bowl
  3. Cook cakes in batches over a no-stick griddle
  4. Serve with garlic-chive sauce

Wings

Wings are always a solid choice. There has never been a party where at least one person didn’t enjoy wings. If you have friends who are afraid of spicy, simply go the garlic parmesan route, as an alternative. Usually it can help to make one batch spicier than the other, as long as you indicate which is which. Be sure to have lots of celery and blue cheese (or ranch) dip at the ready as well. It’s also one of the more inexpensive finger foods.

Here’s one of the more easy finger food recipes for a crowd. Bacon wrapped potatoes are sure to be a hit at any party not thrown by vegans. It only takes two ingredients: bacon and small potatoes. Three if you count the toothpick. Set the oven for 400°F and bake for roughly forty to fifty minutes. The end result speaks for itself.

Caprese Salad on a Stick

You can basically memorize the ingredients to this classy treat. Caprese salad is just basil leaves, grape tomatoes, and mozzarella balls. Put them on a skewer and serve. No sweat, no mess, and throw the oversized toothpick away when you’re done. It’s perfect for a low stress appetizer that’s a healthier option and will please any of your vegetarian friends.
