Pigs in blankets are popular side dishes and for a very good reason – it’s needs not more than two ingredients, it’s easy to set up, and you’d have to walk around the Earth to find someone who doesn’t like it.

You’ll need thin slices of bacon (which you can cut yourself but for the sake of time can be purchased already cut), a bundle of chipolata sausages, and a few dessert sticks just to hold the wraps together. Once they’re set up, roast for 15 minutes and serve!

We’re talking last-minute plans so we have to keep it real – creating appetizers along with a main course and dessert might seem like a bit too much, but these ones are special. Why?

You will only need three ingredients and thirty minutes.

The ingredients themselves are: prepared pie crusts, cranberry sauce (prepared or homemade), and brie cheese. To top it off, you can sprinkle some chopped chives over them, but it’s not necessarily to get the main dish across.

5. Turkey crown

Of course we need a main course for the night and turkey is a tradition, but as we all know, getting a whole turkey ready is not always easy. You could always purchase a seasoned one, then all you have to do is bake it and boom, dinner done!

And that’s definitely not a throwaway idea, if you’re short on time, go for it!

But assuming you want to do it yourself, here’s an alternative: get this turkey crown ready instead.

It’s short on ingredients, easy to prepare on the day, and it even bakes faster. The ingredients are as follows:

  • A 2kg turkey crown
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Bug bunch thyme
  • 1 juiced lemon + a few more to serve
  • 50g of softened butter

Yep, that’s it! To put it all together, follow these simple steps and enjoy the night!
