Creating enough space in the fridge to hold all your food is sometimes tricky.

In fact, we’ve all been there - you scramble and rearrange, but it feels like you can’t spare to take anything out. Worst of all, this happens even if you have a large fridge.

And if you live with a tiny fridge, well… I feel ya.

Lucky for us, there are dozens of awesome fridge storage hacks that help save space for very cheap - sometimes entirely for free.

Keep on reading to find out!

“I tried organizing my fridge to make more room and somehow I have less space than I did before. I even threw like five things in the trash. How does that make sense?” - said everyone who ever tried organizing a fridge

Storing groceries in Mason jars largely increases their shelf life - they can remain fresh for two to three weeks with this hack.

And better yet, it saves storage space!

Stack Bottles with a Binder Clip

Bottles are usually a little awkward to store inside fridges - most fridges don’t seem to have a good enough area for it.

But luckily, in 1910 the binder clip was invented by a man named Louis E. Baltzley. Funnily enough, that was three years before the invention of home refrigerators.

The more you know, right?

With a simple binder clip you can create a firm stand to keep a stack of bottles in one place (like the image above)!

Use a Lazy Susan as a Turntable

Here’s scenario number 1:

You wonder where something is for weeks. When you finally find it deep down in the back of the fridge, it’s already gone bad.

Here’s scenario number 2:

You want something from the back of the fridge. You scramble things around to reach it and end up knocking things down in the process.

Using a lazy susan as a turntable (or an actual turntable) fixes both problems in one go - simply turn the plate to reach anything on the back!

Egg Cartons

There are two great things about this egg carton fridge hack:

  • Not only does it save space for these condiment bottles that are sometimes awkward to store, but…
  • It also already keeps them upside down, making it easier on you to get the desired condiment out when needed, even there’s only a little left!

However, there’s yet another hack you can use to save condiment storage space: put them all inside same-sized bottles! This solves the awkwardness of those weird shapes conflicting with your limited fridge space.

Clear Bins

The beauty of using clear bins is that they save a lot of space by keeping everything organized and within their own boundaries…while keeping everything visible and easy to find at a glance.

Alternatively, you can also label the bins for extra convenience!

Magnets

Take advantage of the vertical space in your fridge by gluing strong magnets to small plastic containers. Ba-da-bing! Instant storage hack!

With these plastic containers and these magnets you can make this hack for less than $20!

Foods You Should Not Refrigerate

It’s very common to refrigerate these, but they really shouldn’t be - knowing this will save you a lot of space you can use for other things:

  • Apples
  • Bananas
  • Coffee
  • Tomatoes
  • Honey
  • Onions
  • Oils
  • Garlic
  • Peaches
  • Potatoes
  • Peanut Butter

And suddenly you have room in your fridge once again!
