Every time we finish doing the dishes, we have an impulse to rinse the sponge and place it in a corner on the sink. But that’s just very wrong! By doing that, there’s a big chance your sponge will grow mold and mildew very fast.

So, here’s what you do:

Find a binder clip and place your sponge there to let it air dry after finishing the dishes!

It’s very likely that you’ve already heard about this hack before, and that’s only fair because this is an amazing trick! If you have some baking soda at home, throw in a teaspoon too! The combo of the baking soda plus boiling water is amazing for cleaning the pipes without causing any harm that some chemicals can.

Wooden cutting boards may look clean after a simple washing up. However, to make sure it’s actually clean and properly disinfected use a combination of salt and lemon.

This is how you do it:

  1. Cut the lemon in half.
  2. Sprinkle the salt on the board.
  3. Rub the lemon (making sure to squeeze off a bit of juice) over the salt.
  4. Let it sit for a couple of minutes.
  5. Scrape of the juice and salt.
  6. Rinse off the board and let it air dry.

Avoid making a mess on your stove when cooking (or simply boiling water) by placing a wooden spoon on the top of your pan! The wood absorbs part of the heat therefore preventing the water from overflowing. This isn’t 100% success guaranteed - sometimes the universe just wants to see us fail (but keep in mind these things happen to make us stronger)!
