The Effects of Artificial Light

Many specialists have already spoken about the possibility of light ruining the quality of sleeping, and there is a consensus. Artificial light not only sabotages your sleeping habits but also increases the risk of high blood pressure and even diabetes.

It’s a fact that exposure to bright and artificial light can prevent your body from preparing correctly for sleep, keeping you awake longer than you wish. The light reduces the hormone melatonin, which regulates the cardiac rhythm, so getting sleepy can feel harder than it should be.

It’s essential to remember the importance of a good night of sleep at the right time and quality:

  • Boosts your immune system
  • Improves memory
  • Strengthens the heart
  • Increases productivity
  • Fights illnesses and chronic health issues
  • Repairs brain and body
  • Keeps you more alert and awake during the day, preventing accidents

How To Install Smart Bulbs?

Like any lighting installation, you can start fitting your smart bulb on its socket. The only thing that makes the smart bulbs installation different from the common bulbs is the connection to a wireless network. But this part is as easy as the rest of the process. Here is a guide on how to connect your smart bulb to your wireless network:

Plugging the hub: some smart bulbs are not able to connect directly with your Wi-fi network, so it comes with a hub in order to connect to your router. Connect the hub to the router with an ethernet cable.

Attaching the bulb: it’s not really necessary for you to attach the light as step number two, you can do it before any step or after everything is ready. Take out the old bulb, then attach the smart one. Don’t forget to turn off the power before attaching the bulb to avoid electric accidents.

Downloading the app: the name of the app varies according to the manufacturer responsible for the bulb, but you can find the name in the instruction manual that comes with it. With the app installed on your phone, you will be able to control your lighting.

Testing your new device: with the light attached and the app downloaded, now all you need is to test it so you can make sure everything is okay to enjoy your new smart lighting.

Important: if your smart bulb is not controlled via any wireless network, then it should be by remote control. With the remote, you don’t need to make any additional connections. The moment you plug the bulb into the fixture, it will be connected to the remote and you will already be able to control the lighting the way you want.
